This new school year brings some exciting changes for the Clinton library. This year's library schedule has more flexible time than ever to allow classes to come in as needed to use the resources and technology available. That means it will be easier for us to blend information literacy skills what what you're doing in the classrooms.
We'll also be investing in quite a few new books this year, thanks to a $5,000 grant from the Laura Bush Foundation for America's libraries. I'll be using this to bulk up different areas throughout the library, as well as to get the books needed to participate in the 2015 Illinois Readers' Choice awards. More details on this program will follow.
Finally, we will be turning our attention to eBooks a bit more this year, particularly as all classrooms are upgraded with Promethean boards to display these materials. The CPS Department of Libraries has been bulking up the district-wide eBook collection, and I am working to add additional titles for our school that are aligned with each grade's curriculum.
I'm very excited to work on more in-depth projects this year with everyone from kindergarten to 8th grade!
