The Chicago Public Library offers many more books and resources beyond what we have here at Clinton. It also has great programming throughout the year (especially during CPS breaks!) to keep students engaged, learning, and having fun. The nearest library branches to our school are Northtown (6435 N. California Ave.) and Budlong Woods (5630 N. Lincoln Ave.).
Even from home, CPL offers wonderful tools for entertainment, such as eBooks or eAudiobooks, and for conducting research. Use the CPL website to access dozens of databases on a bunch of different topics - this is a great way to supplement school resources for projects or just to satisfy your own curiosity.
Note: You do need a public library card to check out books and electronic materials or to use databases - Ms. Mernick can help you apply if you don't already have one. Lost cards can be replaced for $1 (if you don't have any outstanding fines). We also work with the Northtown children's librarian to conduct a kindergarten library card drive every fall.
