From now through February 18, 2015, we have free access to seven additional databases that can be used to support student learning. They include:
To access the databases, simply connect to the Online Databases page on our school's MackinVIA account using the CPS password (see Ms. Mernick if you need it):
- Biography for Beginners: biographies of famous people from throughout history, intended for a younger audience.
- Lincoln Library of American and World Biography: around 10,000 biographies of famous people from throughout history.
- Lincoln Library of American History: more than 6,000 articles of places, events, and people in American history.
- Lincoln Library of Essential Information: short articles on topics including biological sciences, government, philosophy and religion, history, biographies, and the social sciences.
- Lincoln Library of Greek & Roman Mythology: more than 500 short articles on Greek and Roman mythological figures, animals, boats, and places.
- Lincoln Library of Shapers of Society: short biographical sketches of 101 past and present men and women from around the world that have contributed to society.
- Lincoln Library of Sports Champions: more than 700 short biographical sketches of athletes from all different sports including auto racing, basketball, fishing, and swimming.
